Rare lunchtime visit after local chores, mainly to see how 'Spoon's is coping with table service only. The young ladies serving at tables were doing a superb job flitting around like Trojans.

The pub is found in Lee Green, Greater London, SE12 8SS.

Standard smalltown Wetherspoon's fayre. Dark inside and toilets a good half mile away from the bar up a baronial hall style staircase. Outside seating provides a real hidden suntrap. 8 handpumps in 2 banks, each of 4. This Wetherspoon pub bears the name of one of England's greatest astronomers. Pub named after Edmund Halley, who gave his name to a now famous comet, and who lies buried in St Margaret's graveyard. Edmund Halley was born in 1656. His studies in astronomy and mathematics led him to be appointed a Fellow of the Royal Society, at the age of 22.

We have visited this pub 62 times, seen 187 different beers and tried 79 of them.
