29 Mar 2018 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening and pretty busy.
Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50 | | Champion Beer at London Drinker I understand, and I can see why; it’s on marvellous form. Dark, nutty and chocolatey. |
West by Three - Mango Pale | 5.30 | | Cloudy, pale gold and bursting with mango flavour. Great to see this sort of thing in cask. |
Tap East - A.P.A. (American Pale Ale) | 4.30 | Not Tried
Tap East - Smokestack Porter | 6.00 | Not Tried
Tap East - Moai | 3.20 | Not Tried

This is the sister pub of the Rake, which I had moved on from as it was too busy.

15 Mar 2018 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening, mostly standing outside with pint in hand making a long ‘phone call.
Wilde Child - Beyond Redemption | 4.00 | | A completely mad beer. Another beer / milkshake crossover. This one tastes of pineapple. I had to have two to be sure I wasn’t imagining it. |
Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | Not Tried

Tap East - Smokestack Porter | 6.00 | Not Tried

15 Feb 2018 (Stephen Harris)
Early-afternoon visit after holiday shopping in Stratford.
Wild Weather - Hero Factory Ekuanot IPA | 7.00 | | Very murky gold. A 'New England IPA', with Ekuanot hops. Smooth and dangerously quaffable. |

A mid-evening visit after work.
Tap East - A.P.A. (American Pale Ale) | 4.30 | | A reliably excellent pint. |
Alphabet - Llamaland Strawberry | 5.00 | | From keg or key-keg. A hazy reddish/gold. Shockingly sour initial hit, then full of strawberry. |
Stone - Little Bastard | 4.70 | | From the keg taps. Cold and fizzy and, to be honest, a bit ordinary. |
Tap East - East End Mild | 3.50 | Not Tried

A couple of early evening beers with Terry and Ray before they dash off for a quiz fixture at the Black Bull in Stratford.
Tap East - A.P.A. (American Pale Ale) | 4.30 | | On very good form tonight. |
Vocation - Chop & Change Calypso | 4.50 | | We drank this not knowing the hop variety as the label on the cask had gone missing. Very grapefruity indeed. It turned out to be Calypso. |
Brasserie d'Achouffe - Chouffe Soleil | 6.00 | | From a keg and nothing like any Chouffe beer I have drunk before. It is pale gold, hazy, and very sharply hoppy. |

Here in the early evening with a group of friends after having watched football in Dagenham but having baulked at the prospect of using any Dagenham pubs.
Tap East - Tonic Ale | 3.00 | | I’m not sure what hops are going into this beer these days (it has a varying recipe), but whatever they are they are delicious. |
Tap East - IPA | 6.00 | | One of my favourites. |
Tap East - Red Rye | 5.00 | | Brewed to 4.2% this time around. A hazy, reddish-brown beer with tangy fruit and spicy rye. |
