Visits Details

19 Aug 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close. Always a very beery place to visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
RedWillow - Faithless 171 Smoked Best Bitter4.10ExcellentUnusual flavouring but condition superb
New Bristol - Cinder Toffee Stout4.00AcceptableAll the flavour expected but not an ounce of condition. Even multiple decanting between two glasses hardly produced any sustainable head or life
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Jaipur5.90Not Tried
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%)3.40Not Tried
Bristol Beer Factory - Notorious3.80Not Tried
Brew York - It's this way Tony5.20Not TriedTaster was of unadulterated lemon juice
12 Aug 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until close. Bit of confusion over when last orders could be placed but resolved. One of the best cask ale ranges I have seen for a long time in one venue.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - DDH Jaipur5.90ExcellentThe DDH made this quite different to bulk standard Jaipur. For once I forgave the haze!
Marlix - Where's The Bloody Vindaloo Hippie?6.00GoodNightcap with chilli infusion. A novelty but a half was enough. Lacked enough condition
Kernel (The Kernel) - Pale Ale (with oats) Chinook4.50AcceptableLots of floral nose but poured absolutely flat with no head, lacing and condition
Salopian - Darwin's Origin4.30Not Tried
Big Smoke - Solaris Session Pale3.80Not Tried
London Beer Lab - Session IPA4.20Not Tried
Saltaire - Titus3.90Not Tried
20 May 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until close (or what I assume is close!).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Neon Raptor - Radar Detector3.80ExcellentA very bitter APA
Vocation - Tonka Frappe5.00GoodSome sort of collaboration brew. Rather heavy and flat in glass. More condition needed to really enjoy
Siren Craft - White Tips4.50Not Tried
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Astryd3.80Not Tried
07 Apr 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit. Good to see keeping to Friday usual midnight closing on a bank holiday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Signature Brew - Roadie - All-Night IPA4.30ExcellentI expected unadulterated lemon juice but not at all. A rather moreish well balanced bitterness
Fierce - Scottish Export5.00Not TriedTaster was too sweet for me
Cloudwater - Fuzzy4.20Not Tried
25 Feb 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until midnight close.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Rooster's - Distant Sun3.90GoodChocolate brown ale, enjoyed only to find it taken off sale so must have been one of the very last to come out of cask
JW Lees (see also Lees) - Founder's4.50AcceptableFreshly pulled through and put on and lots of zingy mouthfeel and some slight haze
Brew By Numbers - Chocolate Stout5.00AcceptablePoured totally flat, lifeless. A full bodied ale that needed condition to enjoy and it had little if any
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Cortado4.90Not Tried
Northern Monk - A Little Faith4.00Not Tried
Arbor Ales - Pico Mountain3.40Not Tried
28 Jan 2023 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until close.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cloudwater - SoCal4.80ExcellentProfessionally brewed pale
UnBarred (brewed at Two Tribes then later at Missing Link) - Old Ale6.30GoodWould have been 4* with a little more condition. A slow drinker
Mallinsons - Nelson Sauvin3.80Not TriedRan out as mine was being pulled
Siren Craft - Suspended in Centennial4.00Not Tried
Anspach & Hobday - The Ordinary Bitter (was 3.7%)3.40Not Tried
Verdant - Penpol3.80Not Tried
12 Nov 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until midnight close. Never known it so crowded on a Saturday evening. As it should be though with the best ales in Bromley.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Siren Craft - Coldblooded Cold-Steeped Porter5.00ExcellentReliable Siren Craft as always
May Provisions (sub-brand of Unity) - Best Bitter4.20Excellent4½* superb and one to drown in, even though a basic bitter. Only marred by the deliberately misleading pumpclip making no mention that this is a Unity brewery product
Bristol Beer Factory - Notorious3.80Not Tried
Alpha Delta - Agon Mosaic Pale4.50Not Tried
Burnt Mill - Luna Beam4.50Not Tried
08 Oct 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until midnight close. Beer quality visit was my worst ever here. Very light footfall may part explain.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mallinsons - Ekuanot3.90GoodVery good but slightly warmish
Brew York - Tonkoko4.30AcceptableFirst one out for a while I concluded
Bristol Beer Factory - Danger! High Voltage5.00AcceptableVery cloudy but really very smooth. I realised it was last out when ordering another half which could not be fully served
Gun - Project Babylon Pale Ale4.60Not Tried
24 Sep 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Arbor Ales - Smokescreen5.50ExcellentDistinctive, cool, held head and lacing
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Salted Caramel Lucaria4.50GoodCould have been cooler, probably first out for a while
Northern Monk - Eternal Session IPA4.10Not Tried
Gun - Scaramanga Extra Pale Ale3.90Not Tried
Siren Craft - Suspended In Galaxy4.00Not Tried
17 Sep 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit. No bitters or strong bitters so moved on after one and half.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marble - Stout5.70ExcellentNourishing but not the taste profile I really wanted tonight
Nightjar (formerly Slightly Foxed) - Lost In IKEA4.20GoodCondition good BUT not sure what this beer purported to be. Tasted of nothing. Just a liquid
Siren Craft - Suspended In Galaxy4.00Not TriedSaw it poured as a murk so no go
Mad Squirrel (formerly Red Squirrel) - Tri-Hop Mosaic, Vic Secret, Motueka GF Pale4.00Not Tried
