Busy. Struggled to see what beers were on - customers blocking the view. Why don't they use a beer board?
BeerABVScoreNotes
Green Jack - Trawlerboys Best Bitter4.60GoodFine best bitter.
Wold Top - Headland Red4.30AcceptableInoffensive (almost bland) but need sharpening up a bit. Good condition.

24 Jan 2013 (McGargle)
After 2 duff beers gave up and went elsewhere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Milestone - Rich Ruby4.50PoorAttractive burnished red but unmistaable aroma of a beer on the turn.
Phoenix - Pale Moonlight4.20UndrinkableCloudy with hints of vinegar. Quickly replaced but........
10 Jan 2013 (McGargle)
Typical mix of Spoons customers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Elgood's - Thin Ice4.70ExcellentAnother good dark winter ale. Smooth to drink with a restrained spicyness.
Tring - Brookman's4.10ExcellentDeep red winter ale. Excellent smooth malts and some fruity hoppiness with a drying finish leading to another pint.
Naylor's - Northern Gold5.00PoorThin, bitter and grainy.
Cairngorm - Winter Flurry3.80Not Tried
Conwy (Bragdy Conwy) - Welsh Pride4.00Not Tried
03 Jan 2013 (McGargle)
Post-Hogmanay peace.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride4.10ExcellentWhat a revelation! No post-world hops, no lighter than clear malts just a well constructed best bitter. Solid malt backbone offset by careful hopping to hold interest 'til the next pint. Positively shone in the glass.
27 Nov 2012 (Ray)
Busy. Lots of Xmas beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cairngorm - Gold4.50PoorCloyingly sweet, toffee flavours. Dip an apple on a stick in it - perfect.
10 Nov 2012 (McGargle)
Very busy. Tennents seemed to be the drink of choice.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Fisherman4.50GoodAlmost excellent old style ale. Solid toasty malts and enough hops to keep the tongue wagging.
Titanic - Golden Porter4.70PoorAwful. Thin, grainy, unbalanced. Nothing going on. Brewer and buyer must have had an off day.
08 Nov 2012 (McGargle)
Busy. Lot's of festival ales on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Banks's - Feral Australian IPA5.50GoodAlmost 4*. Solid and smooth malts and plenty of hops drinks easier than its abv.
01 Nov 2012 (Ray)
Been in here twice recently and on both occasions have been served vinegar. To the staff's credit the offenders were quickly taken off but they shouldn't need customers to tell them when a beer is sour. Improved quality control needed.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Batemans - Brouwerij 't IJ Ijbok6.00GoodTypical bok bier with that sweet candy flavour and limited hopping. Enjoyed it.
Everards (see entries against Joule's & Robinsons whilst its new brewery was being built) - Birra Del Borgo Tutto Fa Brodo4.20UndrinkableVinegar.
18 Oct 2012 (Ray)
No luck with light, hoppy beers here either.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hook Norton - Double Stout4.80GoodReliable roasty, chocolatey stout. Smooth and dark.
04 Oct 2012 (Ray)
Good crowd. Noisy football commentator.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wooden Hand - Cornish Gribben4.10AcceptableOK dark golden ale. Not one to get excited about - workmanlike.
Blindmans - Icarus4.50PoorCardboard.
RCH - PG Steam3.90UndrinkableVinegar. Quickly replaced and taken off sale.
