Fair few regulars around the bar. Staff are friendly and locals good fun. Sat and had my pint whilst waiting for my friends to arrive.
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | | Really malty bitter. This is one my my favourite bitters arounbd, really reliable. |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - Pearl of Kent | 4.50 | Not Tried | |

The more I come to this pub in the light the more I like its interior. Of course the Fremlins engravings on the windows always help (can't beat Fremlins!). Not overly busy inside but that just meant I could see more of the pub.
| Whitstable - Pearl of Kent | 4.50 | | Bit sharper than the last time I had it but still very good. The hop on this (which I assume is Perle) is lovely. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |

First time I've been here and I'm really impressed. Great atmosphere and really interesting interior. I'll be back.
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | I've never been a fan of this beer but gave it another go anyway. It's not bad but there just doesn't seem to be much going on. It is nice and smooth though. |

It was raining; it was cold; it was time for a beer. I like this pub. It's friendly and the interior is nice and relaxing. ...and it does 3 Kent Micros.
| Whitstable - Pearl of Kent | 4.50 | | Really good condition. Really good earthy hop with good malt and a slightly tart bite to it. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |

Having missed out on coming here with Ian and Brian a week ago I though I'd make up for it. I don't often come here in the light and sitting inside the pub I could fully appreciate what a lovely interior it is. The low ceiling, beams, wooden floor and benches make this a very attractive boozer. TRex were on the juke box. Good beer line-up too.
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | | In excellent condition. Smelt of strawberries and tasted of strawberry and toffee with a gravely bite on the finish. Lovely. |
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Whitstable - Pearl of Kent | 4.50 | Not Tried | |

Sat outside with Brian and watched the world go by and talked about books and reading.
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | To be honest I drank this without much noticing it. Fine. No where near as hoppy as it used to be. |
| Whitstable - Pearl of Kent | 4.50 | Not Tried | |

By far the liveliest pub that we visited with the most wide range of characters : outside were a group of drunk French lads who were on good form, along with a group of old boys who'd had a few. Inside was a similar mix of sorts. The landlord is obviously a patient, easy going sort of bloke.
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | I would have told the landlord that this was the best..Clear yellow colour, white head. Grassy, citrus aroma and that sharp hop sting in the throat. Perfect condition. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | The landlord told a customer who was looking for advice that this was his best beer on offer. And as he's about 6 foot 7 I didn't feel inclined to disagree. |
| Whitstable - Pearl of Kent | 4.50 | Not Tried | |

This is a pretty good pub with a music/student type clientele. Same beer lineup as Andrew
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | I liked this better when it was hoppier. |
23 Feb 2008 (Andrew)
Clash were on the juke box when we came in. This pub always feels busy even when there's only 15 people in. Anyway I like it.
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | Doughy with sharp rich syrupy base. |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
| Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Young's London Special (was Special) | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
15 Dec 2007 (Andrew)
Walked in to ACDC on the jukebox and Whitstable IPA and Incubus on the bar - it doesn't get much better than that (in the words of Alan Partridge). As I recall we spent some time in here discussing how Morrissey was (or wasn't depending on your point of view) a poet for his generation.
| Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | | Fine, as I recall. Light and hoppy |
| Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
