It was raining; it was cold; it was time for a beer. I like this pub. It's friendly and the interior is nice and relaxing. ...and it does 3 Kent Micros.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Having missed out on coming here with Ian and Brian a week ago I though I'd make up for it. I don't often come here in the light and sitting inside the pub I could fully appreciate what a lovely interior it is. The low ceiling, beams, wooden floor and benches make this a very attractive boozer. TRex were on the juke box. Good beer line-up too.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hopdaemon - Incubus4.00ExcellentIn excellent condition. Smelt of strawberries and tasted of strawberry and toffee with a gravely bite on the finish. Lovely.

Sat outside with Brian and watched the world go by and talked about books and reading.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10AcceptableTo be honest I drank this without much noticing it. Fine. No where near as hoppy as it used to be.

By far the liveliest pub that we visited with the most wide range of characters : outside were a group of drunk French lads who were on good form, along with a group of old boys who'd had a few. Inside was a similar mix of sorts. The landlord is obviously a patient, easy going sort of bloke.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10ExcellentI would have told the landlord that this was the best..Clear yellow colour, white head. Grassy, citrus aroma and that sharp hop sting in the throat. Perfect condition.
Hopdaemon - Incubus4.00Not TriedThe landlord told a customer who was looking for advice that this was his best beer on offer. And as he's about 6 foot 7 I didn't feel inclined to disagree.

This is a pretty good pub with a music/student type clientele. Same beer lineup as Andrew
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10AcceptableI liked this better when it was hoppier.

Clash were on the juke box when we came in. This pub always feels busy even when there's only 15 people in. Anyway I like it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10ExcellentDoughy with sharp rich syrupy base.

Walked in to ACDC on the jukebox and Whitstable IPA and Incubus on the bar - it doesn't get much better than that (in the words of Alan Partridge). As I recall we spent some time in here discussing how Morrissey was (or wasn't depending on your point of view) a poet for his generation.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10GoodFine, as I recall. Light and hoppy

Everyone was sat at tables outside.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10GoodLittle bit syrupy. Some sherberty hop. Hops on finish are still biting and good though.

By now I just needed to go home. It was pretty full with a youngish Saturday evening crowd.

Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10ExcellentOne of my favourites and it was as I expected. Straw coloured, slightly sour and refreshing.
