Lively crowd on a mid Friday evening visit, barmaid spotted us peering through the window and kindly made a table available with a great 'they've had enough and are just leaving' quote!

Early evening and busy we occupied the last free table by the window in the corner. Friendly relaxed atmosphere as always in this under rated superb micropub. Top marks to the jovial barmaid who made sure everyone was enjoying their visit and kept the beers flowing! Gratis plates of chicken wings were offered to customers - a bonus consolation prize to comfort us from our previous disappointment.

The pub is found in Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 9DS.
Micropub in York Street that opened on Good Friday 2013 on the site of the Hovelling Boat pub which closed in 1909 (and re-opened 104 years later). No lager or keg beers are sold here. Other past lives of the building have been as a florist's shop and a fancy gift shop. A menu of the beer and cider on offer is shown on a wall blackboard then your drink is fetched (with table service) from a back room having been served on gravity dispense there. Under new ownership in spring 2018.
