Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40UndrinkableSour! The landlord said he had not pulled it through 2nd pint was the same so he checked the cask and said there was still plenty left but it had been on a while! Would have been fine on chips...

21:00 visit. Got a txt at 20:15, a spur of the moment visit, to meet one of the chaps? Had good banter with Alan, plus three chaps from Ashford (I think), plus another couple, who came and went quite swiftly, and then, a lady with her little dog. It doesen't get much better than this, I can tell you? I had the Stout then sampled two bottles of Barley Wine, which were very.....coming from InBev....refreshing...? Certainly nothing like the Barley Wine of yore...(the 80's)....Great Craic though, I should come here a lot more often than I do I think.

I popped in at evening opening time, and the pub soon became quite busy. We drank a pint in memory of the late Roger Marples.

The pub is found in Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1EU.

In Wyatt Street, one of three Goacher's tied pubs. Décor has not been updated for some time, but that adds to the joy of this quiet pub. Light, Mild and Stout on regularly. If you like Goacher's, then come here. Also, if you like a quiet pub with no airs or graces that serves well crafted beers then this is your place. The long standing licensee of nearly 37 years (Alan) left in late February 2015 bringing a phase of the pub to an end. Pub closed for a week then re-opened under new tenants, Matt and Gina who were themselves replaced by Alex and Polly in February 2018. The 3 original handpumps have now become 4. Secluded rear garden. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2016, CAMRA West Kent Pub of the Year 2016, CAMRA Kent Pub of the Year 2016.

We have visited this pub 595 times, seen 11 different beers and tried them all.
