14:00 visit, with my Mother, for a Sunday Club birthday treat, she being 76 on Wednesday. Quite busy all round. Xmas lunches on reserved tables for some, and our food was good too. Some decent sasonal ales noted.

Evening. This 'Spoon's has an excellent reputation for its ale. Packed and at the stage where people are shouting instead of talking and staff level on counter service is inadequate for the number of customers given the complexity and variety of drinks orders.
