Evening visit. Good atmosphere in here on first day of JDW beer festival. My first poor beer left me to try the festival ciders as a default purchase.

Late evening visit. The apparent no entry after 11pm rule encountered on my last visit was non existent tonight with many streaming in after that bewitching hour. What a nonsense!

Late evening and just hassle. Refused service as I had arrived after 11pm despite pub's website showing midnight close and there being no signage at the venue to warn of such a limitation. Duty manager said it was company policy but was unable to provide written evidence after a considerable wait. Several old boys like me refused whilst I stood at the bar.

14:00 visit, with my Mother, for a Sunday Club birthday treat, she being 76 on Wednesday. Quite busy all round. Xmas lunches on reserved tables for some, and our food was good too. Some decent sasonal ales noted.

Evening. This 'Spoon's has an excellent reputation for its ale. Packed and at the stage where people are shouting instead of talking and staff level on counter service is inadequate for the number of customers given the complexity and variety of drinks orders.

Ex retail premises. Long and traditionally styled 'Spoon's outlet. Sports 8 handpumps in banks of 5 and 3. Toilets at rear on same level as the bar. No new admittances permitted after 11pm. Placed up for sale by Wetherspoon September 2022 with 31 others.
