Came for lunch with the family. Actually I came for the beer; lunch was a peripheral consideration. The majority of the pub is laid up for food and the bar area felt a little like a hotel reception but the seating out side the front of the pub and in the rear garden was what you'd expect from an old country pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Farriers Arms - Bishops Brew (Stout)4.20ExcellentRoasted, tart, burnt malt, powerdery black stout.
Farriers Arms - Summer Gold4.10AcceptableAmber coloured beer. Lacked condition. Oranges and bread dough dominated. I suspect that when found in good condition it would be good.

Farriers Arms - Bishops Brew (Stout)4.20ExceptionalNice looking ans tasting Stout. Typically dark, coffee like and enough bitterness. Nice thick creamy head. Limited edition apparently, but should still be available for St Patrick's day.

A wet Friday lunchtime, the pub was busy with lots of people eating and enjoying the beers on offer. They were out of stock of their own brewed beers, and expect to have this back on sale on Friday 21 January.

Buttery digestive biscuit on finish. Some deep fruit from the malt. Condition is just about ok. Diacetyl dies a bit and rest of beer is ok. 535312

I like these village pubs just after opening time especially on a Saturday when you just get a couple of locals in having a drink early doors. Plus the attraction of having beer brewed on site. Christmas beer here available from Monday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Farriers Arms - 16063.70AcceptableCopper brown orange colour. Fruity aroma, touch of diacetyl really maybe I picked up later in the pint. Good fruity malt. An ok bitter.

This was the first day of the beer from the pub's new micro-brewery being available for sale. The press and local television were in attendance, along with many of the local shareholders.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Farriers Arms - 16063.70GoodThe first cask from a new brewery. A good session beer, copper in colour, nutty, and flavoursome, but perhaps a little thin.
