My long English west to east journey now over at 2205 hours. Not enough time to drink and note all ales so just the north facing bar inventory given here.

Very noisy, only seats were near the toilets. A very unpleasant pub.

Two visits in one day, I started here when I alighted from a train at York, and finished here on my way home. Half of the pub was closed off for maintenance at lunch time, but the whole area was open in the evening. A most impressive establishment, and very convenient for public transport.

Tap tap who's there? A rainy night seems to have kept this venue quite quiet for once. Visit 2150 hours. Got into conversation with one of the guvnors of York Tap and also of Euston Tap, London. Much talk of hops which are a major part of the "Taps" experience. He also told me that the Cambridge Tap at the Railway Station there had fallen through and a new site in the City is now being sought - indeed a great pity.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sunny Republic - Beach Blonde3.70ExcellentNew brewery located in Dorset near Bournemouth. Allegedly run by a former employee of Greenwich's Meantime brewery. York Tap apparently first pub to sell the product. A heavy hop hit for a 3.7% brew. Last train call precluded a second helping
BrewDog - Growler4.80ExcellentSpecially brewed for "The Taps" and first day on sale here. Brewed with a pile of Citra hop variety. Also sold here on keg. Prices £3.10 cask and £4.20 keg. The guvnor here was involved in the initial brewing at BrewDog HQ.

Our first visit to this temple of ale.Quiet on a February midweek lunchtime:a few worshippers, a lone laptop warrior, and the odd family. The ladies enjoyed the hot chocolate from their whizzy new machine; we approached the pumps with awe and devotion. Only those beers tried listed-far too many to remember!
BeerABVScoreNotes

Kirkstall - Black Band Porter5.50ExceptionalRunning out of superlatives:dark plum black,tight white head.Toast 'n' roast,bitter.Solid, serious and sensual.

Steadily increasing patronage before lunchtime on a Saturday. Calling in late afternoon before my train home found it much busier with no seats to be had. Beers listed are those I haven't tried before, there were at least as many again also on the pumps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ilkley - Tap 34.20GoodCollaborative brew for the York Tap. Pale and hoppy with citrus hop and a little malt balance. My score 15/20.
Bristol Beer Factory - Independence4.60GoodPale and well balanced brew with good citrus hop and malt character. My score 15/20.
