The police cordons are down and Borough Market is open again after ten days as a sealed-off crime scene. Very large crowds are present to give their support to all the businesses that have been affected.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brewster's - Britannia's Brew5.00ExcellentStrength given this year as 4.5%; this is a collaboration brew with Yeastie Boys. It is a pale golden IPA, heavily flavoured with Earl Grey tea for a very aromatic and tasty pint.
Vibrant Forest - Summerlands (was 3.5%)3.40ExcellentA pale, dry, hoppy pint in superb condition.
Arundel - Castle3.80Not Tried
Oakham - MK Ultra3.70Not Tried

Here with Terry L in the early evening for the launch party of new Tottenham brewery BrewHeadZ. Their first three beers are available in key-keg form and are quite impressive – they had earlier in the day been available in bottled format at UtoBeer. The language of the evening here is Italian, the native language of the brewers and their large group of supporters.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brewster's - Aromatic Porter4.50ExcellentBlack. A nice, smooth Porter with decent hop levels.
Brewheadz - Kitchen Porter5.00ExcellentA really nice Porter, the best of the three beers from the new brewery I thought.
Brewheadz - Fired Up Donkey6.60ExcellentA tasty, spicy, cloudy, red Rye Beer.
Brewheadz - Electro Beat5.40GoodA cloudy, tasty, hoppy Blonde.
Rudgate - Viking3.80Not Tried
Salopian - Orbital4.00Not Tried

If it’s Wednesday night then it must be a Tap Takeover night in here. Sure enough, it is Saltaire Brewery’s turn tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Saltaire - Stateside IPA6.00ExcellentGood US hop flavours.
Saltaire - Citra Pale4.20GoodA pale beer with Citra character – could have had more Citra character.
Saltaire - Belgian Wit5.80AcceptableOn keg dispense. A somewhat sterilised version of a Witbier I thought. A clear, golden colour. A bit disappointing.
Saltaire - Triple Choc (was Triple Chocoholic)4.80Not Tried
Saltaire - Cascadian Black4.80Not Tried

I should have been in Southend watching football but a late departure from work knocked that idea on the head, so I came here instead for the Five Points Brewery Tap Takeover. It became very crowded however, so I stayed just for one before moving on.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Five Points - Brick Field Brown5.40ExcellentA great, dark, heavy-duty Brown Ale.
Five Points - Railway Porter4.80Not Tried

Early evening with Robert, we sat outside and enjoyed a few Californian beers from the Bagby Beer Company tap takeover. All were a bit too cold and fizzy from the kegs, but great beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bagby Beer Co. - Pesky Neighbour6.00ExcellentA full-bodied Pale Ale.
Bagby Beer Co. - Goof Troop7.00ExcellentAmber-coloured, resinous and hoppy.
Bagby Beer Co. - Mohawk7.00ExcellentPale and dry and hoppy.

29 Jul 2016 (Stephen Harris)
I met up here with Robert S after work and we stayed until it began to get crowded.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bad Seed - Summer Ale3.80GoodLight, hazy and quaffable.
Two by Two - Bergamot Citra Saison5.20GoodAn unusual, pale golden beer with exotic flavourings. Cloudy. Nice.
Roaring Four - Rakau NZ Single Hop IPA6.30GoodFirst beer I’ve seen from this new Brixton brewery – here on keg dispense. A full-blown, hoppy IPA spoiled slightly by excessive carbonation.
29 Jun 2016 (Stephen Harris)
There is a Tap Takeover here tonight and Meet the Brewer thing with ELB from Leyton. Lots of familiar faces with brewers, drinkers and licensees gathering for the event. Three ELB beers on cask and three more on keg are available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
East London (ELB) - Orchid Vanilla Mild3.60ExcellentMasses of vanilla flavour.
East London (ELB) - Pale Ale4.00GoodA special cask of the Pale Ale, dry-hopped with Bobek. Whisper it, but I thought the dry-hopping detracted-from, rather than enhanced this beer.
East London (ELB) - Lamplighter4.50GoodA deep ruby/brown coloured, trad Best Bitter. Fruity and a little spicy.
20 Apr 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Evening visit. Very busy. St George’s Day beer festival on, plus two Brewsters Brewery beers are being launched here tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brewster's - Stilton Porter5.00ExcellentA fruity, peppery, slightly roasted, black Porter. No cheese was harmed in the production of this beer.
Left Handed Giant - Duet4.80ExcellentA really good, citrus-hoppy Pale Ale, brewed with Citra and Cascade hops.
Steel City (cuckoo at Toolmakers) - Beleidigung zur Geschichte5.00ExcellentA cloudy orange/gold beer with a thick mouthfeel. A hoppy wheat beer.
Brewster's - Pankhurst4.80GoodBitter beer brewed with Juniper.
17 Mar 2016 (Stephen Harris)
First evening of a four day festival of Irish beers, and the pub is predictably crowded. For some reason, nobody is wearing a green, orange and white sponsored top hat. Beers from ten Irish breweries available at the festival on either cask or keg dispense.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Boundary - Export Stout7.00ExcellentA strong, thick, black, warming Stout.
Brehon - Shanco Dubh7.70ExcellentAn impressive, near-black, smooth Porter.
Mourne Mountains - East Coast5.50ExcellentPale gold in colour. In slightly flat condition from gravity dispense – but excellent hops make up for this.
White Hag - White Sow5.20ExcellentOn ‘Nitro’ dispense, which I haven’t succumbed to for a while. Black. Not foamy as I expected. A strong, slightly sweet, smooth, Oatmeal Stout.
Black's of Kinsale - KPA5.00GoodA cloudy golden colour. In the style of an American Pale Ale. Tastes a lot better than it looks.
Independent - Connemara Pale Ale6.00GoodGolden and cloudy. A definite hop bite, but a little bit yeasty.
Kinnegar - White Rabbit4.80GoodOn keg dispense. Cloudy, gold and sharp. A hoppy wheat beer.

The pub is found in Southwark, Central London, SE1 9AG.

Small pub on the north side of Borough Market run by the same people who own the Utobeer bottled beer stall in the market itself. The bar has 3 hand pulls serving UK cask beers and 6 taps supplying continental and world beers. An extensive bottle beer selection is also available from the fridges behind the bar. The bar has stripped wood floors, pale beige walls and a historic Pilkington glass ceiling. A decked patio provides extra space and seating. Definitely an excellent addition to the Southwark beer scene.

We have visited this pub 151 times, seen 348 different beers and tried 249 of them.
