I’ve got a bit of family history with Broadstairs, one of my great-grandmothers having run a boarding house here, and I have dim memories of childhood day trips to the town. I’d forgotten what a nice place it is and it was good to take refuge in here late in the afternoon when the weather started to close in.

Another afternoon stroll which means a quick stop in here. Fair few people eating and a smattering of regulars enjoying the log fire.

Incredible sunset over viking bay so we occupied a table in the window. Can't think of anywhere better at that moment.

Popped out for a couple in the afternoon. We were the only ones in but the barmaid was really friendly and the fire was going well so much worse places to be.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 54.40GoodTasted like at least part of the pint had been sat in the pipes overnight but it was still perfectly nice overall.

Myself and my flatmate were bored so dropped in for a pint. Very quiet despite the celtic jam night being on, the people of Broadstairs need to sort themselves out.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Caledonian - Merman XXX4.80AcceptableHad a sourish aftertaste, possibly close to being on the turn. Still drinkable.

Still quite content to stick to the same selection of ales in here after a brief period of creativity. Folk night on Wednesdays so dropped in for a couple.

Evening visit sandwiched between two to The Chapel. Don't think I have been in here before as in days of yore (after Cobb's) it was uninspirational for ales. A visit in homage to that famous local occasional imbiber here - Edward Heath "Man of Principle"!
