With the London Beer City week in full swing, there is a multitude of beery events to choose between tonight, not least of which of course is the elephant in the room that is the GBBF. I decide to come here for a partial tap takeover and Meet the Brewer with Edge Brewing of Barcelona. Six of their beers available on keg.

Early evening at a quiet time here – there is again an overwhelming choice of beers over the various formats.

| Naparbier - Light Raven | 4.50 | | On keg dispense. This beer has been brewed in Spain in collaboration with Evil Twin. Amber-coloured and unfiltered. Quite well-carbonated, but this does not detract from the excellent and exotic hop flavours – almost a five star beer. |

I can’t explain why I have not been coming to this excellent pub. Superb beer range tonight with four beers on cask, five kegs from Troubadour, more kegs and key-kegs and a fabulous bottle range. My mate Keen had just come from ‘The Italian Job’ in Chiswick with rave reviews, so I expect I’ll be going there soon.

A really enjoyable evening – with a presentation of Birra del Borgo beers from Italy (ten available on keg dispense), accompanied by excellent Italian charcuterie. I list the Birra del Borgo beers I tried, plus the six cask conditioned beers that were on.

A low-key re-opening night for this venture, which promises to be another excellent beer destination pub.

The pub is found in Bethnal Green, Greater London, E2 6EY.
This back-street, corner pub was present off Bethnal Green Road by 1832. Historically a Courage Brewery pub, it had become a free house by the 2000s and survived as a basic, no-frills, keg-only boozer until 2013. Substantially renovated, the pub re-opened in December 2013 as a convert to all things micro- and craft in the beer world. A sister pub to the Earl of Essex in Islington.
