The Berry wasn't open til 16.00, the Just Reproach had just closed, so this was next best choice. Sat in the corner with a couple of pints uploading beers onto Ratebeer
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | Drank 2 and a half pints of this and thought it was amazingly good. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | Not Tried | Went off as I ordered it. |

First stop on our mini pub crawl in Deal. Love this pub, really olde world feel to it and a really comfortable place to have a drink. The busiest pub we were in all night and it probably deserves it.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | | Sweet, malty and a little hoppy. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried

Busy, friendly, dimly lit and relaxed back street local with a good beer selection, attracting a mixed clientele of all ages for a Saturday evening.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | Standard session beer with a subtle hint of digestive biscuit flavour, served at an acceptable temperature. |
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | | One of my favourite beers, light, hoppy with a slight citrus flavour, would have preferred it to be cellar temperature or less. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Seasider | 4.30 | | Copper coloured beer with a wheaty biscuity aftertaste, again served too warm for my liking. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried

Both myself and my dad woke up with stonking hangovers so thought we'd get the train over to Deal and walk it off. I love Deal and I love the pubs here, this place is fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to manage another visit before I leave.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | Mine was excellent. Light malt and hops, nothing too overpowering just a great beer. However, my dads was poured off first and it was definitely too warm. |

My first visit here and i was suitably impressed. There is some maritime festival in town today so there was a folk trio playing. We relaxed with our pints in the beer garden. I'll be coming here again.

It was a sunny day and the beach at deal had a sprinkling of holiday-makers and sea anglers. We retired to the Ship which was empty except for 1 customer at the bar. I like the airy old world ship's cabin feel to the place.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | Rich, succulent, tangy. A roast-beef-dinner of a pint. |
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried

I had forgotten just how pretty and delightful Deal is with its small terraced cottages, tight narrow streets. It is perfect for a leisurely cycle through. This pub has always been a favourite for me with its multiple rooms, lots of wood and light and dark areas.
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | | I try so many UK beers that want to be this beer and miss by a country mile. I smiled when I saw this was on. Very lively pouring it, but settles down into a beautiful lemon curdy beer. Perfect aroma, supberb condition, the hops sing. The pint in the Butcher's Arms still wins, but it's marginal. Oh, by the way, if I haven't made it clear to you, this is one of the best pints I've ever had ever. I had no real plans for today, had nothing really to do, haircut, library, and big breakfast of kippers, toast and ducks eggs. Then a couple of decent Deal pubs. Sat in back room overlooking the pub garden and rooftops with weak summer sun shining in. No hurry, don't need to be anywhere, perfect. I love that beer. |

Early Sunday afternoon. There were a handful of locals at the bar and a few people in the garden out the back.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 7 | 3.80 | | This is the best pint of Gadds No. 7 I have ever had. Very hoppy, agressively so, with the underlying sweet malt I associate with Gadds |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried
Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
Badger (Hall & Woodhouse) - King & Barnes Sussex | 3.50 | Not Tried | Badged as 'Ship' beer by Hall and Woodhouse |

Quiet lunchtime session but a loverly pub. Dark green panneling with copper tables and nautical memorabilia
Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | | Umm... I don't know what Hopback are doing with this beer. It tastes tired and rough. This is not the pint of the early 90's |
