24 Oct 2023 (McGargle)
Mostly dog owners so a relaxed atmosphere. Plus 6dN Gatherum.
Cromarty - Raptor | 5.50 | | Vary bitter. Asked the barman if it was supposed to be hazy. He didn't know. Tasted ok but Simcoe and Eukanot are not a happy combination. |
Windswept - 1806 | 5.00 | Not Tried
Burnside - Flints Gold | 4.10 | Not Tried
29 Sep 2023 (McGargle)
Poets day and very busy so we sat outside.
6dN Gatherum on cask.
Windswept - Hurricane | 4.50 | | Surprisingly malty with a hefy and slightly unbalanced hop kick. |
Loch Lomond - Draff | 4.70 | Not Tried
20 Sep 2023 (McGargle)
Only two 6dN cask beers. Gatherum and Velodrome. No guests.
Pilot - Mochaccino Milk Stout | 5.50 | | Quite sweet with plenty of vanilla and cacao nibs. A strong milk stout (keg) and not really to my taste. |
31 Aug 2023 (McGargle)
All change. Rob, the bar manager, has gone off to work at the 6°N brewery. The new bar manager is Robbie who used to be head chef.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | As it should be. |
Orkney (Sinclair) - Dark Island | 4.60 | Not Tried
Burnside - Chain & Anchor | 4.20 | Not Tried
24 Aug 2023 (McGargle)
New staff behind the bar struggling to get WiFi working.
Only one guest in a sea of cask and keg 6DN beers.
Stewart - Citra Blonde | 4.00 | | Nothing wrong with the serve but it pales (no pun) in comparison to say Jarl or Oakham Citra. |
06 Dec 2022 (McGargle)
Windswept - 1806 | 5.00 | | Typical roasty Scottish stout. |
Stewart - 18 | 5.60 | | Sour. Either it had gone off or had not been pulled through. In either case it was undrinkable. |
29 Sep 2022 (McGargle)
Busy. Perhaps short staffed but service was a bit slow and sullen.
Loch Lomond - Southern Summit | 4.00 | | Unremarkable. |
Cromarty - Brewed Awakening | 4.70 | Not Tried
Cromarty - Hit The Lip | 3.80 | Not Tried
07 Jul 2022 (McGargle)
Quiet inside but absolute racket from pnuematic drill along the harbour piers. You wonder why they choose the peak holiday season for heavy civil work.
Also 6DN Criterium, a slight rough and ready 7.3% West Coast IPA.
Fyne - Jarl | 3.80 | | Very fresh. Struggled to fill the glass. |
Stewart - 80/- | 4.40 | Not Tried
Arbor Ales - You May Say I'm a Dreamer | 4.60 | Not Tried
13 Jun 2022 (McGargle)
Plus one 6DN beer.
Cromarty - Hit The Lip | 3.80 | | Passed its best. |
23 May 2022 (McGargle)
Quiet with local trade
Fyne - Hurricane Jack | 4.40 | | Last of the cask but still crisp and fresh. |
Cairngorm - Trade Winds | 4.30 | Not Tried
Stewart - Amarillo | 4.60 | Not Tried
