Great beers but wet feet. Overflowing urinal solved by placing a small bucket below which promptly overflowed.
| Buxton - Moor Top | 3.60 | | Top quality ultra-pale ale. Fruity and very bitter. Almost 5*. |
| Bristol Beer Factory - Sunrise | 4.40 | | A darker gold. Earthy and bitter. |
| Cromarty - Happy Chappy | 4.10 | | Against the sharp focus of the BBF and Buxton beers this seemed a bit muddled. Normally a 4* beer I wonder if that's because we're usually starved of top comparisons and tend to over-rate? |
| Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Orkney (Sinclair) - Latitude Pilsner (Atlas range) | 3.60 | Not Tried | |
| Burnside - Wild Rhino | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Hop Classic (keg) | 6.60 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg) | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Wonderlust Wheat (keg) | 4.60 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Jozef Blond (keg) | 4.00 | Not Tried | |
13 Sep 2013 (Ray)
Busy. Willing staff.
| six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg) | 4.20 | | Dry, bitter and refreshing. |
| Cromarty - Atlantic Drift | 3.50 | | Much less hoppy and focussed than the keg version. Aggressive, almost metallic, finish. |
| six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg) | 4.20 | | From a new keg this was muddled. Too smooth and balanced. No bitter dryness. No real hop presence either. |
| Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Inveralmond - Lia Fail | 4.70 | Not Tried | |
| Burnside - Wild Rhino | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Hop Classic (keg) | 6.60 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Prototype | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Windswept - APA | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Wonderlust Wheat (keg) | 4.60 | Not Tried | |
06 Sep 2013 (McGargle)
Busy early evening.
| six°north - Hop Classic (keg) | 6.60 | | Darker, cloudier and less well defined than earlier samples. |
| Alechemy - Citra Burst | 5.40 | | Dark golden ale somehow missing the sharp freshness of citra hops. Were they masked by the forward malt? |
| Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
| Inveralmond - Ossian's Ale | 4.10 | Not Tried | |
| Caledonian - XPA | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Prototype | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
18 Aug 2013 (McGargle)
Busy, of course, but for too long there was no one behind the bar - all busy doing other 'things' no doubt.
| six°north - Hop Classic (keg) | 6.60 | | New keg which I suspect will improve in the next couple of days. Obviously, I don't accept that keg beers are stable. |
| six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg) | 4.20 | | Fresh and crisp. |
| Windswept - APA | 5.00 | | For a new brewery these guys can certainly brew but they do need to work on their recipes. This was a very competent premium bitter but most certainly not an American Pale Ale. |
| Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Prototype | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
10 Aug 2013 (McGargle)
Very busy - service a little slow.
| six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg) | 4.20 | | Flat, insipid almost stale. Changed without question - barman didn't like the look of it either - but took a further 20 minutes before it was removed from sale. |
04 Aug 2013 (McGargle)
20th Century selection of cask beers. Missed (?) the Strathaven.
| six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg) | 4.20 | | Cool and refreshing but one dimensional lacking bitterness or clear flavour. |
| Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
| Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | Not Tried | |
| Orkney (Sinclair) - Dark Island | 4.60 | Not Tried | |
| Houston - Killellan | 3.70 | Not Tried | |
| Kelburn - Pivo Estivo | 3.90 | Not Tried | |
| six°north - Prototype | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
27 Jul 2013 (McGargle)
Busy on a summer's evening.
| six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg) | 4.20 | | Cool, dry, bitter, refreshing.rn |
| Barney's - Good Ordinary Pale Ale | 3.80 | | Surprised myself but this was a solid, refreshing pale ale. Selling well apparently on a hot day. |
| Strathaven - Summer Glow | 3.90 | Not Tried | |
21 Jul 2013 (Ray)
Wonder why they don't use sparklers? Asked the bar staff who didn't know.
| Cromarty - Atlantic Drift | 3.50 | | Cool and refreshing. |
| six°north - Wonderlust Wheat (keg) | 4.60 | | First impression was of a beer that was a little thin in the mouth. Aroma and flavours were very true to style though. |
| six°north - Prototype | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Windswept - Wolf | 6.00 | Not Tried | |
19 Jul 2013 (Ray)
