Very busy but staff were on top of their jobs.

six°north - Wonderlust Wheat (keg)4.60Not Tried
Fyne - FyneBank4.60Not TriedUnfair to rate on a taster but first impressions were of a deep gold watery beer with whiskey hints.
16 Jun 2013 (McGargle)
On another busy day the staff kept well on top of demand.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg)4.20ExcellentOn a hot evening this was just the job. Fresh, sharp, hoppy and bitter. Much better than the equivalent (Prototype) on cask.
six°north - Prototype4.20GoodGood but not as quenching as the keg version. Maybe in winter the tables would be turned??
02 Jun 2013 (Ray)
Beautiful evening to sit outside and watch the world go by.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Beyond the Pale (keg)4.20GoodThis was 'Prototype' kegged, cooled and carbonated. This style works well in kegs and would have been even better is the carbonation had not been so assertive.

Mostly local trade tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fyne - Sublime Stout6.80GoodGood roasty and hoppy stout would have been improved by serving through a tight sparkler.
six°north - Prototype4.20GoodFirst cask beer I've seen from this brewery. Belgian style pale ale. Hoppy and bitter but more focus needed.
Fyne - Superior IPA7.10AcceptableDisappointing English style IPA. What was missing from the hops was made up for by the dominating caramel. Maybe 2* really.
19 May 2013 (McGargle)
Hoped to try Cromarty Atlantic Drift and Mor-Ish but both had sold out within 2 days so sat on the harbour wall in the sunshine with a Fyne ale.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fyne - Aonoch Mor4.00GoodPleased to find that after the departure of former head brewer, Wil Woods, Fyne are still more than capable of devloping top class ales. This one was golden, solid malts, initially slightly sweet and citrus then a good bitter finish.
11 May 2013 (Ray)
Packed. Good atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cairngorm - Trade Winds4.30GoodRegaining some lost form. Fresh and fruity. Still a bit thin and could do with more biting flavour.
25 Mar 2013 (Ray)
Wanted to try the saison from 6degnorth but two kegs had sold since Friday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Swannay (formerly Highland) - The Duke IPA5.20AcceptableCould do with more body.
Speyside Craft - Bottlenose Bitter4.10AcceptableClassic case of the whole being less than the sum of the parts. Slightly sweet and limited hopping. no real balance.
12 Mar 2013 (Ray)
Local trade on a bleak night.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Hop Classic (keg)6.60ExcellentWanted to try this again. Thoroughly enjoyable and that initial sweetness had vanished. Great condition with small, lively bubbles.
10 Mar 2013 (Ray)
Called in to sample a trail beer from six°north brwery which has the same ownership as The Marine.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Hop Classic (keg)6.60ExcellentGood take on a new style Belgian Bitter. Golden and slightly hazy, great bitterness contained by the malts, some intial sweetness and a drying finish. Post-trial likely to be branded as 66 Bitter.
Strathaven - Avondale Amber Ale4.00Not Tried
Born in the Borders (formerly Scottish Borders) - Dark Horse4.50Not Tried
27 Jan 2013 (Ray)
Busy. Fast, friendly service.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Strathbraan - Head East4.20ExcellentReally enjoyed this very well crafted best bitter. Glowed with burnished copper and, even without a sparkler, produced a long lasting creamy head. Some floral hops balanced with a well chosen malt bill left this drinker wanting a second.
Burnside - Black Katz3.60Not Tried
