Very busy. Disappointing to report that the bottled beer range is much smaller than previously. But you can still find Boon, Cantillon and Rochefort.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | In top condition. Shone in the glass. Solid malt, some hops, long finish. Would have merited 4* but served too cold. |
Kelburn - Goldihops | 3.80 | | Thin golden ale. Unconvincing hop/malt mix and no real character. |
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Orkney (Sinclair) - Latitude Pilsner (Atlas range) | 3.60 | Not Tried
Orkney (Sinclair) - Dark Island | 4.60 | Not Tried

Busy. More drinkers than diners gave the bar a good feel.
Timothy Taylor - Landlord | 4.30 | | Reliable standby. |
Williams Brothers - Caesar Augustus | 4.10 | | Described as an IPA/lager cross this light golden ale was pleasant enough. Light hopping, reasonable body but a little too sweet in the finish. One was enough. |

Orkney (Sinclair) - Dark Island | 4.60 | Not Tried
Inveralmond - Dunottar | 4.20 | Not Tried

27 Aug 2011 (McGargle)
Went back to enjoy the Fiddler's Gold and Enfidach only to find they'd both been replaced with far less exciting options. Such is life.
Burnside - M-Pire | 5.20 | | Chestnut coloured strong bitter. Slightly sweet and malty with some spice to stop it becoming cloying. Drank stronger than its abv. |
Arran (formerly Isle of Arran) - Sunset | 4.40 | Not Tried
Houston - Endeavour | 3.90 | Not Tried
26 Aug 2011 (McGargle)
Busy. Two staff seemed slightly overwhelmed at times.
Fyne - Fiddler's Gold | 4.50 | | Light golden with thin white head. Elegant, full body and very bitter, only hints of fruit and crisp dry finish. |

Deeside - Enfidach | 4.50 | Not Tried | From a taster this seemed to be an interesting porter with some chocolate and orange. |

Beautiful evening but the harbour area was surprisingly quiet. None of the ales had any real appeal so enjoyed Bitburger instead.
