Second of my stops on my cycle ride around Faversham after the Black Lion at Lynsted. Had to come here after the reviews of the Whitstable IPA from Andrew and Martin. 6 beers on and still very busy even though it was late lunchtime. I sat on the bank of the creek with my pint and enjoyed the view of the creek, Isle of Sheppey and the marsh whilst the sun beat down. Terrific
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10ExceptionalGolden colour. Aroma of rich apricot and peach with some hop and some biscuity malt. Full in mouth and slightly sweet due to the fruit. Nice hop finish with more dried apricots and some rose petal. What a wonderful beer.

Friday lunch time session and it was faily busy with couples having food. We sat outside on the river bank to start with and that was great. Just the view and a pint of Goachers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10ExceptionalPale yellow brew which tasted of grapefruit and flowery hops. Very light and moreish. Great.
Goacher's - Special House Ale3.80ExcellentLots of orange with a malt finish. Far more 'light' in this than 'dark'
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40GoodAnother interesting beer. Sweet and sharp to start with followed by burnt malt on the finish. What I imagine a classic mild to taste like. Not what I would have expected from my favourite beer but good none the less
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid3.70GoodLight and hoppy.
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original)4.10AcceptableInteresting. Tasted of acetate. Very burnt flavours to start with a slight sweetness and then burnt malt on the finish. Not the usual taste of Goacher's Dark

Got there when it opened at 11am and by 12.30 it was packed. Being a bright but cold day there were a few walkers in but mainly people who'd driven
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40ExcellentMy guess this was from a fresh barrel so it hadn't got that chocolate taste yet. Still a good 'un though
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original)4.10ExcellentThat good old goachers taste but a bit more earthy than usual
Goacher's - Special House Ale3.80ExcellentMore light than dark but still loverly
Goacher's - Mildly Original3.70ExcellentOkay we made this beer up by mixing Original with the Mild but hey, it worked. Good malty taste of the Original worked well with the burnt malt of the mild. May be Mr. Goacher should have a taste.
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10GoodVery rich golden beer that tasted very similar to Swale's Indian Summer
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid3.70AcceptableA bit tired for this usually excellent beer

Kent white clapperboard building on the Oare creek overlooking the Isle of Sheppey. Excellent home cooked food and a choice of Kent micro beers all on gravity

Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40ExcellentVery dark ruby colour. Good malt, some burnt caramel/coffee, some dry hops on end. Excellent flavoursome mild
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA)4.10ExcellentGolden beer. Good hoppy nose with raspberry fruit malt. OK in mouth with flowery hoppy finish. Some fruit malt with good bitter dry aftertaste
Goacher's - Special House Ale3.80GoodDark gold. Bit citric with tart hops and some malt. Slightly creamy in mouth
Hopdaemon - Golden Braid3.70AcceptableGolden ale, some citrus fruit, thin in mouth , some hops and a bit tart/acid on finish.

The pub is found in Faversham, Kent, ME13 7TU.

Ancient white weatherboarded pub out on the Swale creek at Hollowshore, this is a mecca for anyone who likes Kentish beers and marsh countryside. The walk along the creek to the pub is wonderful and good for bird life and views across to the Isle of Sheppey and up to Whitstable. Beers are normally from Goacher's plus occasional guests and feature Goacher's Mild, Shipwrecked (a Goacher's special badged and brewed for the pub) and either Gold Star or Original. A beer lovers' paradise but also with a reputation for good food and has a separate restaurant room. All real ales are served by gravity direct from the casks visible behind the bar.

We have visited this pub 36 times, seen 29 different beers and tried 19 of them.
