KentishAl made this pub sound so good I had to come. Not exactly my kind of pub, but I drank a pint watching the football. A typical corner local boozer.

First one of the season for me. Some sweetish fruit, but a little watery.

7pm and my first visit. I've been walking past here to get to "other" pubs for some time and find this to be a little gem of a back street local. The familiar faces behind the bar, I've seen down town for many years, and did not know they've been running this freehouse for over 6 years. They were very welcoming. The old black & white photos here are well worth a look, as are the history notes on the long gone Fremlins brewery. A pub you should try if around town for sure.

This Shep's Halloween seasonal, a dark type Mild, was superb and I went back for another. The landlord said it had been selling really well and it went off very soon, but he gave me nearly a whole pint for gratis?? Lovely ale and only £2.80 a pint?

This ale, and 3 pints sampled, was actually, very very good here and was on for an incredibly good value £2.55 a pint?
