Came here on Sunday lunchtime for my Mother's birthday along with my sister. I like it. It has reasonably good food and the beer is kept pretty well too. I had lamb shank and black cherry pavlova along with 2 pints of Shepherd Neame Porter

| Shepherd Neame - Porter | 4.80 | | Black beer, sparse bubbly beige head. Slightly sour, dark roast malts with some dark fruit on the aroma. Molasses in fact. Slightly wet in mouth and some sourness. Finish has dry grainy burnt malts, with some very good dry hop. Little bit of toffee. I really like this beer. |

Got there around 9pm on Christmas eve and it was heaving.

This pub has had a lick of paint since the last time I was here. Not that it was in anyway tatty before, but the colour scheme is just a little different and they have opened up the eating area into the saloon bar. Set in the wonderful village of Wye at the foot of the North Downs the pub is split into 3 rooms, public bar, saloon bar with real fire and 3 handpumps plus the dining room. Cream and terracotta painted walls with lots of brown wood and exposed red brick. Very cosy on a winter's day. Shepherd Neame pub with 3 draught cask beers on

| Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | As close as a beer can be to a 5/5 but not quite achieving it. Admittedly this is my favourite Sheps beer, but this was particulary good. Mixture of turkish delight fruit and choc malts with good hoppy bitterness. Deep chestnut colour with thin beige head. Body is quite soft before more rich dark fruits kick in with choc/coffee and some yeast. The hops are fresh and stunning |
