A late evening visit and good to see the incredibly smoky Gael Rua ale on here.

Refreshingly zesty ale, a much needed "palate cleaner" after the smoky Gael Rua!

One of my favourite beers, it looked great but it had no flavour, and I couldn't drink it all !
Didn't bother looking at other beers !

Only a few beers on, but found one i liked. Much better pub than the Muggleton, Maidstones other Wetherspoons pub. Walked in during the week. They looked like they had 11 beers on, but when i tried to order a beer, the first 5 were not on!!So I walked out. Against the trade descriptions act? Just turn the handpump around please or advertise your most popular beer as sorry not available!

Black Wolf (formerly Traditional Scottish Ales (TSA)) - Sporran Warmer
Part of the Brenchley House building in Week Street. Large Wetherspoon's pub with 2 levels which opened in April 2002. The Society Rooms takes its name from the efforts of William Shipley, founder the Royal Society of Arts and the Maidstone Society for Promoting Useful Knowledge. Shipley died in 1803, and is buried in Maidstone, and lies in a tomb between All Saints Church and the old Palace. 10 handpumps in 2 banks, each of 5.
We have visited this pub 456 times, seen 897 different beers and tried 665 of them.
