Ten o'clock on a damp Saturday evening. The pub was buzzing with contented customers; I'd come to pick up our daughter from work.Van Morrison on the 'speakers. Good pub.

Fairly quiet on a sunny February Saturday lunchtime:I sat in the window seat listening to a group of elderly gents discussing buses and Roman roads. Velvet Underground on the speakers. Good pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Larkins - Traditional3.40ExceptionalA sublime beer today at its toffeeish best. Bitter depths and a freshness of green apples at the finish. My ideal session bitter.

Early doors on a Saturday lunchtime.A crowd of Cockney golfers at the bar. I'd been to buy a tree for the garden, and had to come in to celebrate.

great atmosphere as usual with this pub, one more beer on this time. always perfectly hospitable and welcoming landlord/staff.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40Excellentexcellent as ever. always seems to be in great condition here.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Sun Top3.60PoorThis beer was just not as good as i remembered it.. perhaps an adjustment to the recipe. definitely not the same beer as i've had from them earlier in the summer. less hoppy and floral on the nose and finish. and a thin mouthfeel which quickly dissipates to a mildly astringent aftertaste.
