Wet out so busy in. Some kind of 90's street music was on the juke box but the general pub hubbub drowned most of it out.

There were a handful in this great pub meaning we got it more or less to ourselves.
Tonbridge - Coppernob | 3.80 | | Superb condition. Rounded toffee and malt body with light earthy hop finish. Really very good indeed. |

My favorite pub on Canterbury. Here with Ian drinking beer. Great night out, in the style of the good old days.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Man this is good. Ah man this is good. It's a meal in a pint. |

Still my favorite pub in Canterbury, especially on hot days as everyone else seems to want to sit outside so I get the interior to myself more or less.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Excellent condition; excellent temperature; excellent beer. I just love the astringent peanut-grapefruit flavours in this beer. ...and all at 3.9%. |
Whitstable - East India Pale Ale (or EIPA) | 4.10 | Not Tried

Hot, which means most folk are sitting out. Sat under the alter that is the Fremlins window.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Ah the Wife. Good condition but if I were really picky it was a degree too warm. Still, it's a great beer. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - She Sells Sea Shells | 4.70 | Not Tried
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | Not Tried

The Fremlin's window was free so of course we sat under that. Not too busy and I had a brief chat with an old work colleague too. Always a pleasure coming here.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Gold Top | 4.30 | | Not my favourite Old Dairy but Tony thought it was excellent. |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Rauchbier | 4.80 | | I had a half as it was a Canterbury Ales beer (even if the style didn't excite me). I had to txt Ian to find out if Rauchbier was supposed to taste of vinegar. It's not, so this must have been past its best. |
Hopdaemon - Incubus | 4.00 | Not Tried
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried | Tony had this and thought it very good |

The fire was roaring away. Not too full either. Lovely.
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Wife of Bath's Ale | 3.90 | | Just the right temperature. Stunning leafy, grapefruit hop and subtle malt combination. Just such a great beer. |

Early doors on a Sunday lunchtime. Very warm welcome.

17 Nov 2012 (Andrew)
Sat with Ian on the sofa by the jukebox and was occasionally bumped into by some Scottish gents at the bar.
Abigale - Samphire | 4.10 | | The condition was okay but it just didn't taste like Samphire. It was dusty tasting and too warm. |
