Found lots here who escaped from the 39 steps and the packed pub. Conversation yet again was how cold should a beer be.

A small crowd present. I liked all the railway stuff in here. I also liked the fact that participation in the group conversation (about dogs) was not compulsory and that it was possible to disappear unobtrusively into a corner to enjoy my pint.

Afternoon visit with a trickle of customers coming and going. I was horrified to see a Marshall loudspeaker being installed in the pub what was relieved to discover that it is only there for a pub quiz later in the day. I had not previously been aware that this pub is owned by the same people that run the nearby Yard of Ale.

Retail premises conversion into the micropub style at the top end of the High Street near the railway station. Opened officially on 15th July 2016 with a soft opening the day before. Cask ales and ciders / perries sold on gravity dispense from a chilled cabinet on the upper level behind a bar counter. The lower level has tables and chairs with a couple of settees in the bay window. Operated by the same people that have an interest in the nearby award winning Yard of Ale. Railway themed including interest adorning the walls and a real length of mainline rail acting as a foot rail at the bar counter upstairs. Thanet CAMRA branch Cider Pub of the Year 2017.

We have visited this pub 89 times, seen 93 different beers and tried 52 of them.
