With a commendable cask selection there can be few better places to spend an hour on a warm summer's evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bristol Beer Factory - Independence4.60ExcellentOld favourite served in top condition.
six°north - Omnium4.30GoodMaybe 4*. Crisp, clean and well defined.
Summer Wine (SWB) - Stateside4.30AcceptableMalts were disjointed.
Park Brew - Townhead4.40PoorMalty, mid-brown and sour. Unclear if the brewery is Park Brew or Brechin Ales. Web site doesn't help.
Isle of Skye - Cuillin Beast7.00Not TriedThis might just be my least favourite summer beer.
Burnside - Celtic Beast5.20Not TriedUnclear if this a residual beer from the Metcalf brothers or something from the new owners.
Burnside - Kai Tak6.00Not TriedA group of us had tried this in bottle (from Aldi) and found it almost undrinkable. Hopefully the cask version will be much better.
05 Jun 2018 (McGargle)
Busy during a pleasant mid-evening visit. Typically dull 20th Century cask list from a multiple CAMRA POTY winner. No wonder cask is going through a crisis of confidence.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Omnium4.30GoodWorkmanlike APA. Would benefit from a little sweetness from the malts.

Busy. No loud music, no loud TV just the hum of chat.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fyne - Workbench5.50GoodAssume this was WB4 FinalDraft. Hugely fruity but malts could have been more complementary.

Excellent selection of cask ales.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Windswept - 18065.00GoodRoasty Scottish style stout.
Tiny Rebel - Dutty4.20PoorAs a Vermont Pale Ale you'd expect this to be a vibrant orange/yellow. It wasn't! More murky brown. Intrusive bitterness and not much mouthfeel. Disappointing.

20 Jan 2018 (McGargle)
Surprisingly busy mid-afternoon. Another deadly dull cask list led us to the keg taps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Hopocrisy4.60GoodDry and bitter. Hop Classic's younger brother.
04 Jan 2018 (McGargle)
Quiet. Got busier with local family trade.

Mostly local trade. Dull cask list mostly unchanged since last visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes

six°north - Hopocrisy4.60GoodCrisp.
13 Sep 2017 (McGargle)
Surprisingly busy with late season tourist trade. Other cask beers not worth noting.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cromarty - Ghost Town5.80ExcellentIn top, fresh form. £3.50 a pint.
six°north - Bordeaux Saison6.00GoodAged for 18 months in white Bordeaux casks this carried some of the zip from the wine. Stonking £3.40 a half.

26 Jul 2017 (McGargle)
Now that its sister pub, 6Deg.North, has stopped selling cask beer the range here is much diminished. At today's visit it was 20th century offerings from Strathaven, Cairgorm and Kelburn. Nothing of interest.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Buxton - Axe Edge Double IPA6.80ExcellentKeg.
Siren Craft - Under Current4.50GoodKeg.
