13 Sep 2017 (McGargle)
Surprisingly busy with late season tourist trade. Other cask beers not worth noting.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cromarty - Ghost Town5.80ExcellentIn top, fresh form. £3.50 a pint.
six°north - Bordeaux Saison6.00GoodAged for 18 months in white Bordeaux casks this carried some of the zip from the wine. Stonking £3.40 a half.
Cromarty - Red Rocker5.00Not Tried
26 Jul 2017 (McGargle)
Now that its sister pub, 6Deg.North, has stopped selling cask beer the range here is much diminished. At today's visit it was 20th century offerings from Strathaven, Cairgorm and Kelburn. Nothing of interest.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Buxton - Axe Edge Double IPA6.80ExcellentKeg.
Siren Craft - Under Current4.50GoodKeg.

Another dull cask list. Given up trying to include 6degN beers. Hypocrisy was on 4* form.

Very quiet. 20th century cask choice.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cromarty - Whiteout3.80ExcellentMurky as hell but packed full of hoppy freshness. Makes the Duke seem even more heavy handed.
Swannay (formerly Highland) - The Duke IPA5.20PoorAsked for something light and hoppy and was offered this. Too late I spotted Whiteout on the keg lines. English style IPA. Not so fresh.
