In for the usual Wednesday night drink & bite to eat. The pub has changed hands again for the better it seems. The atmosphere was very nice and the shop appears to have been moved to a much more practical place near the road with its own entrance.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodHad a faint soapy-ish taste that seemed to mute some of the tastes that you would expect, it still had the hoppyness. That said, you could still taste it was Sussex best, not a bad pint.

Called in for the grand opening after a period of being closed for refurbishment, a small farm shop/village store has sprung up in what was the rear dining room. The pub was busier than I have ever seen it, with some new faces behind the bar.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Badger (Hall & Woodhouse) - Tanglefoot (was 4.9%)4.70GoodA nice refreshing, dry, hoppy pint, had three pints before we moved on.

Walked here from the Duke in Barham, it was just after 1 but the place was almost empty, a few people were in the beer garden where we joined them.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70GoodThis is by no means my favourite beer, but it was either this or Fuller's ESB. However, this was really good. It had an unusual nettley bite and was very well served.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - ESB5.50Not Tried

Came here on a Friday evening for something to eat. Very friendly and the food is excellent. The pub has 2 rooms, one for drinking and one for eating but both are nicely laid up and the whole place is very atmoshperic.
BeerABVScoreNotes
House Beer - Black Robin Bitter3.70GoodGood base bitterness and watery sweet malt. My guess is this is Masterbrew re-badged
