Wantsum - Golgotha 5.50 A superb stout Adnams - Stone Brewing Double IPA 8.50 This is the real beer- Chris Excel note! Shepherd Neame - Stone Brewing California Double IPA 7.00 Not Tried Amazingly good. Label said 8.5% and not Shephard Neame. They couldnt brew something this good!

Part of the Brenchley House building in Week Street. Large Wetherspoon's pub with 2 levels which opened in April 2002. The Society Rooms takes its name from the efforts of William Shipley, founder the Royal Society of Arts and the Maidstone Society for Promoting Useful Knowledge. Shipley died in 1803, and is buried in Maidstone, and lies in a tomb between All Saints Church and the old Palace. 10 handpumps in 2 banks, each of 5.
