The Goachers Mild was turned around so I guess it's usually on. Friendly staff and good food.
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original) | 4.10 | | Rough earthy malt. Goachers for the Goachers drinker. |
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | | Orange peer and fresh. |

The main attraction of the day. The bar was busy when we arrived at about 3:30pm. We sat out in the garden for a bit which was enjoyable.
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale | 3.40 | | Quite tight and in need of some air. I wonder if blanket pressure is being used. |
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | | After a few pints had been poured this was actually very nice but again it felt like it could have done with a bit more mellowing |
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original) | 4.10 | | It was okay but the flavours hadn't come out to play yet. |

Cam and I got the train to Teynham and walked down along country lanes to the pub. When we arrived there was only one other person in and they were sitting at the bar. We sat by the fire place and drank Mr Goachers Beers
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | | Fresh barrel so lots of orange flavours going on. |
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original) | 4.10 | | Less caramel and more toasted sugar than I recall but good enough to have 2 pints. |
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale | 3.40 | | A touch sharp. Maybe it was fresh on. |

Lunchtime on a May Saturday:a small furry dog allegedly drank a lady's Fine Light Ale-I don't believe it!
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original) | 4.10 | | Wonderful beer! Dark 'n ' earthy, with an underlying wealth of hops. I hadn't drunk this in years, but it is even better than it was in the Smarden Bell in the '80s. |
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale | 3.40 | | The refreshing side of sharp. Selling well, so perhaps it was me. |
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | Not Tried
Goacher's - Crown Imperial Stout | 4.50 | Not Tried

We'd been to check out an award winning butchers shop, and decided to come on here for a pie. Early on a warm October Saturday lunchtime, a few regulars enjoying their Goachers and talking about torque. Fine pub. We were intrigued by the gallows relaxing in the car park.
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale | 3.40 | | A classic mild, one of my desert island beers. Dark and chocolatey;full of mystery. Should really have tried this before the Silver Star. |
Goacher's - Silver Star | 4.20 | | Badged as a Green Hop Ale.As pale as something from Yorkshire, but with that wonderful earthy Goacher's character.A long aromatic hop finish. |
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | Not Tried
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original) | 4.10 | Not Tried

I'd been getting various texts from Ian raving about Goachers Old so I just have to have a Goachers beer. However, after being side-tracked into visiting the Ship at Conyer I was going to head off home. ...but Isabel insisted we came to the Black Lion for a packet of crisps. "Great idea", I said. Great pub this. A real gem.

Lovely pub in a lovely village. Could have stayed here ages, except we had to leave. The Pawley Farm apple juice is excellent for anyone having to drive.
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale | 3.70 | | Very full, rich and marmalade-y, but just lacked some condition for me. |
