12:45 Good interior with built in seating and an eclectic mix of old tables. The intricate mantelpiece in the rear room is noteworthy. Lovely secluded garden. I had lunch here, three tapas for a tenner. Excellent. The pub dog watched me eat, but nothing went his way. I have a heart of stone.

Quite busy with diners and locals on a Saturday lunchtime.

Very quiet on a mid Saturday afternoon.

Went up to the bar and as we were about to order a chap next to us told us the Butcombe was superb. We ended up chatting to him for about an hour. Turns out he was a major contributor to BITE - an_ecunemical_matter. After he'd headed off to the Bag O' we got some dinner. Umm, eating sandwiches with a knife and fork because it was safer than try and lift it up! Rock n Roll.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Cheddar - Potholer4.30AcceptableUmm, well not as good as all those years ago in Bath. Still got an orange bite to it but no great shakes.
Bristol Beer Factory - Sunrise4.40AcceptableIntense farm yard bitterness. Rush of gruff bitterness.
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA3.80Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale)4.20Not Tried
Butcombe - Brunel Atlantic IPA5.00Not TriedHad a sip. Clean tasting IPA of the light English variety.
