Lunchtime visit, we sat in the restaurant and had a meal with our beers. It was encouraging to see this pub looking as busy as it did during the government's eat out to help scheme. Equally encouraging to see four cask ales on.

We came here for lunch and expected it to be packed with people taking advantage of the government's Eat Out to Help Out offer. In fact it was very quiet with a handful of customers in the bar and only three tables occupied in the dining area. COVID precautions are very good here so I will be happy to make a repeat visit. The pub closes at 3pm so we retreated to next door(ish) whilst waiting for our respective buses/trains home.

I met a friend for lunch here. We had booked in advance and were shown to our designated table after registering our contact details. As seems to be fairly standard in Shep's managed houses, perspex screens have been placed between tables. Friendly staff and table service.

Popular with diners and I overheard a few very favourable comments about the food. I did not feel uncomfortable just having a beer in here and got engaged in conversation with a couple who had travelled from the Isle of Sheppey as their local pub has apparantly gone down the pan.
