The Standard Inn (Free House)
Visits Details

Early evening and very busy around the bar area, the bar staff coped well with both food and wet sales. We were kindly offered a table in the dining room at the rear of the pub even though we were not dining. Last port of call for today.
Three Legs - Pale | 3.70 | | Superb flavours for such a low ABV ale - would easily compete with many of the stronger APA varieties - I couldn't fault this hence bored our group for the next half hour or so waxing lyrical about it! |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - The Standard Farmer Ale (house beer) | 4.00 | Not Tried
Three Legs - Black Pale | 4.30 | Not Tried
Three Legs - English IPA | 5.00 | Not Tried

Early to mid evening visit, very busy with most folk drinking however it was OK to sit in the quieter dining area at the rear of the pub where we decided to have a meal anyway to accompany our beers.
Three Legs - Pale | 3.70 | | Excellent conditioned light easy drinking ale which washed down my meal perfectly. I cannot comment on any flavours/aroma's etc as despite a meal in between, I could still taste the tea flavours from my previous beer! |
Three Legs - English IPA | 5.00 | | The most bizarre IPA I've tried to date, as pale as a Christmas Pudding with a full on lingering tea flavour which took a while to come through, yet I found it enjoyable, I could still taste this hours later! This is how Hog's Back T.E.A. should be. |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - The Standard Farmer Ale (house beer) | 4.00 | Not Tried
Three Legs - Black Pale | 4.30 | Not Tried

It was good to see this pub open and busy again. I had a good chat with a pump clip designer, I have never met one of those before.
Three Legs - English IPA | 5.50 | | Superb IPA |
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - The Standard Farmer Ale (house beer) | 4.00 | Not Tried | A new design of pump clip apparently coming soon. |
Three Legs - Gold Standard (house beer) | 3.80 | Not Tried
Three Legs - Pale | 3.70 | Not Tried

Evening. Good to see it open and thriving again. However none of the beers I tried had very appetising condition and needed a tad more cooling.
Hastings - Breakfast Porter | 4.60
Three Legs - Gold Standard (house beer) | 3.70 | | Tired |
Three Legs - Amber | 4.80 | Not Tried
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - The Standard Farmer Ale (house beer) | 4.00 | Not Tried

Evening. Looking forward to a visit having remembered it from its days of showcasing Young's beers. Unfortunately closed and looking forlorn. Someone in The Old Bell says it has been closed for a year now.

Busy with locals and visitors alike. I felt a bit uncomfortable sitting down as the tables were laid out for food.
Old Dairy (being contract brewed after it closed) - Red Top | 3.80 | | This was not as good as usual, and was probably end of cask. |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
White - Chilly Willy | 5.10 | Not Tried
