Early evening on a chilly Autumn Thursday. A large convivial group already in the public bar.I sat by the fire, and wondered if the legendary "Potman Brimming" graffito is still on the beams:too dark to tell.

15 Sep 2019 (Jack William)
Early evening- looks to have been very busy going by the pile of dirty glasses on the bar counter. Still a good few drinkers in the September sunshine. Shame about the beer - straight from the cask is only good if you can keep it reasonably cool. Today's 25 degrees was clearly a challenge.
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | | Marked up as “Adnams Best” but pretty sure it was this.
Nearly marked it “acceptable” as the flavour was ok - but flat and warm - this is the sort of offering that gave real ale a bad name years ago. They need some decent cooling here for their casks. |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried | Marked up as “Harvey’s Best” |
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - The Friar's Ale | 4.30 | Not Tried | Marked up as “Friar’s Pale” - not impressed by the lack of attention to detail on their chalk board. |
10 Oct 2018 (Wittenden)
An infrequent mid week pub visit.Mid evening, the public bar was deserted. The hithertofor unadorned bar top was spoilt by a multi headed keg dispenser.

Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
Adnams - Southwold Bitter | 3.70 | Not Tried
