Nice 2 roomed pub found about 10 minutes walk from the University. The beer was a revelation; I've not had beers that taste like that since the early 1990's. Can't put my finger on what the flavour reminded me of but I thought I knew UK beers pretty well and, to my knowledge, there are any other beers that taste like these. Not sure if I liked them or not but they were certainly interesting.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Steamin' Billy (contract brewed by various) - Bitter4.30GoodSandy brown, very distinctive tasting bitter. Reminded me of a Belgium Whit beer. Sweet, fruit cocktail flavours and peach juice. Takes some getting used to but nice.
Steamin' Billy (contract brewed by various) - Skydiver5.00GoodMid brown, and tasted of Marigolds.
Steamin' Billy (contract brewed by various) - Billy the Kid4.20AcceptableLight brown. Perfumed, wood polish, wood resins, marigolds. Reminded me of Newquay Steam Bitter.
