10 Oct 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Mid-evening and a seemingly mostly tourist clientele, perhaps some of them staying at the hostel upstairs.
Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Redhead | 4.10 | | I was bounced into buying this when I didn’t like the look of my first choice beer. Not the sort of beer I like really; sweet, malty and untroubled by hops. |
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried
Caledonian - Autumn Red | 4.40 | Not Tried
Sharp's - Original | 4.40 | Not Tried | I ordered a pint of this, but the first pint came up as a clear liquid. The second pint was vaguely beer-coloured and I was offered it but declined. |
14 Jan 2015 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening late. Noisy late bar - generally lots of well behaved people with some live music.
Caledonian - Bitter Winter | 4.80
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried

Caledonian - Great Scot | 4.40 | Not Tried
17 Aug 2014 (Stephen Harris)
Early Sunday evening on returning to London after family business in Hastings. Every table is laid for food, although at this time nobody is eating. Like several others, I grab a table anyway and push cutlery out of the way.
Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Pale Beauty | 4.70 | | Golden. A very nice, crisp, full-bodied Pale Ale. |
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA | 3.80 | Not Tried
Hogs Back - Tongham TEA (previously T.E.A.) | 4.20 | Not Tried
Vale - Brill Gold (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Samuel Adams Blonde Ambition | 4.50 | Not Tried
22 Jan 2013 (Martin the Mildman)
Aylesbury (ABC) - Illumination Porter | 4.90 | | Shown as 4.9%. Dark brown porter with a bittersweet character and some fruity hop in the finish. My score 15/20. |

03 Nov 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Fairly quiet on a Saturday afternoon.

18 Sep 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Fairly quiet on a Tuesday evening.
Aylesbury (ABC) - Bay State Wheat | 4.40 | | Amber coloured with only a slight haze. Fairly dry with a hint of sourness and a little citrus hop. My score 14/20. |
25 May 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Perhaps the busiest I have seen this pub so far – but it is considerably bigger than one might suppose at first glance, and there was plenty of room deeper in.
Vale - Grumpling Old Premium Ale | 4.60 | | Full-bodied, chestnut-coloured beer with lots of malt character. |
Aylesbury (ABC) - Magnetic North | 3.80 | | A dark, chocolatey mild with a hint of roastiness. |
Rebellion - Zebedee | 4.70 | Not Tried
St Austell - Tribute | 4.20 | Not Tried
Rebellion - IPA (was 3.7%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
19 May 2012 (oz11)

Aylesbury (ABC) - Magnetic North | 3.80 | | A rather hefty price of £3.70 was a bit of surprise. |
