Saturday afternoon visit. The internal layout of this pub has changed considerably since my last visit. I was told that I looked like a CAMRA member and offered 20p discount on my beers.

Arrived in Liverpool at 17-30 after a long, long day. The fleet is the nearest pub to the hotel.

I much preferred The beer is still good though.

A bit of a shock here, could not get in the door! Walked around to the stern end to find a new entrance. Inside the little bar has gone and is replaced by a long bar on the other wall.

Although the Good Beer Guide gives the opening time as 12 noon on a Saturday, the pub’s own website says 11am, and so we found ourselves in quite a big queue outside when the doors opened on the stroke of 11. A friendly welcome and we also sampled some locally produced raspberry cider, which was nice. All other customers appeared to be either stags or hens.

The pub is found in Liverpool, Merseyside, L1 8DQ.
Flat iron shaped building near Albert Dock. Home of Wapping Brewery and an upstairs restaurant. No smoking room at point of building has wonderful off white leather chairs and a view across the dock and up to the 3 Graces including the Liver Building. Seems to be Liverpool's best kept secret. CAMRA discount for card carrying members.
