08 Apr 2025 (Magnus Greel)
We picked a good time to visit Brighton today, plenty of space available inside and in the small rear outside area. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable bar staff happy to provide tasters and advice to the Preppies.
Long Man - Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Perfectly balanced with a complex bittersweet, malty taste, fragrant hops and a characteristic long smooth finish. |
Lost and Grounded - Spring Protagonist | 4.40 | | Biscuity with a finite resinity with subtle floral and herbal notes which made for a very Underberg-y flavour! |
Iron Pier - Hard Hat Stetson | 4.70 | | Just a sample was enough for this limy tropical concoction with a head shuddering bitter finish. |
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried
Beak - Lulla Pale | 3.40 | Not Tried

Lively for an early Sunday evening with a few tables and seating available. Music being played thankfully unobtrusively allowing conversation to happen unimpeded.

19 May 2023 (Magnus Greel)
Busy upon our lunchtime arrival after which folk soon dissipated and we had the left side bar to ourselves though sadly the loud music made conversation a chore. Think is my first visit - possibly the garish colour scheme now which adorns this pub interfered with my memory banks somehow!
Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 4.70 | | This was superb - all my APA expectations satisfied.. |
Cloak + Dagger - No Dinner For Old Men | 3.50 | | A complex hoppy brew bursting with tropical fruits with even a hint of Jaffa Cake.. |
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | Sadly rather watery and lacking body. |
Burning Sky - Aurora | 5.60 | Not Tried
