Lively for an early Sunday evening with a few tables and seating available. Music being played thankfully unobtrusively allowing conversation to happen unimpeded.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Burning Sky - Aurora5.60ExcellentA resinous mouthfeel, big citrus and tropical fruit flavours, which are prominent, yet well balanced.

Busy upon our lunchtime arrival after which folk soon dissipated and we had the left side bar to ourselves though sadly the loud music made conversation a chore. Think is my first visit - possibly the garish colour scheme now which adorns this pub interfered with my memory banks somehow!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - American Pale Ale (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)4.70ExcellentThis was superb - all my APA expectations satisfied..
Cloak + Dagger - No Dinner For Old Men3.50GoodA complex hoppy brew bursting with tropical fruits with even a hint of Jaffa Cake..
Burning Sky - Plateau (was 3.5%)3.40AcceptableSadly rather watery and lacking body.

Evening visit. The kitchen has gone said a board outside. Apparently the space is now used as a green room for visiting bands. One may bring in food from local establishments or order a delivery now instead.

A pub that is as near to being underneath Brighton railway station as one can get in Trafalgar Street (No 48). Transforms from office workers at lunchtimes to students and music enthusiasts in the evening. Out front seated drinking area. A multi-room Victorian pub which has 6 handpumps on the bar counter. For a long time it has been a music venue but more latterly has offered a good range of real ales too. 50p per pint CAMRA discount on real ales.
