Firmly placed with commiseration showing!!

Evening. TV horse racing was de rigeur here today. One very large screen made it feel as if you were actually there.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Deverell's - Redemption 4.50GoodThe scantily clad on the pump clip lead some of our group to order this beer. Lots of bitter mouthfeel suggests a heavy malt presence
Mighty Oak - Oscar Wilde Mild3.70Not Tried
Cottage - Cheltenham Gold4.20Not TriedWhat on earth does Cottage think it achieves by ever new names and (perhaps) beers

Evening. January sale - pints of real ale at £2.50.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Deverell's - Redemption 4.50ExcellentFull bodied and hoppy hit
Banks's - Tetley's Gold Cask4.10Not Tried
Pitfield's - White Knight3.60Not TriedNo indication of brewer on clip but barmaid said it was Pitfield's. Local beer business Argem.biz shows it as one of its brands on the web. For me no definite provenance at point of sale means no go.

The pub is found in Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 1QJ.

May be a tad difficult to find being located at the back of the railway station and then down a most delightful road of well kept 2 storey cottage terraced houses. Located in Townfield Street on a corner. As I recall this has been a long time CAMRA favourite but was given a makeover around 2008 / 2009 with new owners who upgraded the furnishings and fittings significantly. Some sports orientation with large screens for football, cricket and no doubt other offerings. 8 handpumps with emphasis on Essex brews.

We have visited this pub 13 times, seen 37 different beers and tried 10 of them.
