Mid afternoon pleasant and welcoming. I sampled a taster of the Snail's Back peach melba cider and very good it was too.

Late afternoon fairly quiet no doubt as it's just outside of the Portobello tourist trap area. Stephen Harris - if your reading this am sure I echo the thoughts of regular P&B scribes we miss your highly regarded reviews and input.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Wild River | 4.50 | | Nigh on perfection for this crisp hoppy toasty refreshing fare. Just a tad cold for a full blown 5 star rating. |

Sambrook's - Junction | 4.50 | Not Tried

Late afternoon a few others dotted about, soft background music and dim lighting would have made for a good atmosphere however the smell of food was rather overwhelming. Whatever it was it did smell good!

Mid evening and bizarrely quiet compared to the couple of pubs I passed on my way from The Elgin, just 3 others in. Again no drinking at the bar hence assigned a seat at one of the many tables available. Disappointed with the beer range in here tonight and similar to my last visit suffering the loud thumping music which I doubt is appreciated by folk here. Pity as this pub seems to serve to serve beer in consistently good condition.
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | | Faultless - easy no quibble 5* as per my next pint was |

Mid evening and very busy with young hipster types, noisy loud music with the folk shouting to talk, a couple of chaps arrived asking for Guinness and Heineken which isn't sadly sold here. I've not listed the many keg beers on offer.
Five Points - Five Points Pale | 4.40 | | This was superb, spicy hoppy light and flavoursome. Washed down my recently eaten curry perfectly. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Gale's Spring Sprinter | 4.00 | Not Tried
Siren Craft - Yu Lu | 3.60 | Not Tried

Mid-evening. The canal-side garden is full to capacity on yet another pleasant summer’s evening. Not so busy inside. Good bottles in the fridge, a few interesting kegs, but a slightly limited cask beer choice (albeit good ‘uns).
Redemption - Big Chief | 5.50 | | In perfect condition. Bordering on five stars. |
East London (ELB) - Pale Ale | 4.00 | | Pale, sessionable bitter. Juicy malt. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried

An early evening visit for the launch of London’s latest new brewery – Shamblemoose, of Cheam. The Shamblemoose beer was free, as was the buffet, and the Brewster was suitably surrounded by a ring of admirers. Understandably, the place was crowded – but I saw enough to realise that it is a fine pub and worth another visit next time I am passing.
Shamblemoose - #4 American Brown Ale | 5.30 | | American Brown Ale is not an easy style to pull off, but this was bang on. A deep brown colour from the use of rich dark malts and enlivened by a load of citrusy American hops. First class. |
Kernel (The Kernel) - London Brewers Alliance Collaboration Stout | 6.80 | | Served from a key keg. Pitch black, full bodied stout, with a fairly subtle roasted coffee bean taste. |
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - Chiswick | 3.50 | Not Tried
Twickenham (also uses sub-brand Old Hands) - Grandstand Bitter | 3.80 | Not Tried
By The Horns - Diamond Geezer | 4.90 | Not Tried
Tap East - A.P.A. (American Pale Ale) | 4.30 | Not Tried

Late afternoon visit on a hot Thursday afternoon, most patrons outside by the canal.
Beavertown - Smog Rocket | 5.40 | | Brown smoked porter with good malt character and a smooth well rounded mouthfeel. Gentle smokiness in the finish. My score 16/20 with B for quality as served too warm. |
Truefitt - Mydilsburgh India Pale Ale | 5.00 | Not Tried
Truefitt - Ironopolis Stout | 4.70 | Not Tried
