We'd been on a long walk in the woods and fields above Bakewell, and continued the debate whether Jane Austen had been north of Oxford.Busy on a cold Wednesday lunchtime.A temple to Thornbridge Hall.A very charismatic pub.I feel as if I've gone rather over the top here, but the quality of the beer was top rate.

The pub is found in Little Longstone, Derbyshire, DE45 1NN.

Stone built Peak District pub, close to the Monsal Trail. Three little rooms, the bar in the middle, with open (smoking!) fires, flagstone floors. There's a garden out back, and views of open country.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 3 of them.
