Late afternoon and quiet with a couple of groups in. We chatted to some Dutch cyclists on a pub tour in between dodging the rain showers.
Romney Marsh - Amber Ale | 4.20 | | Citrus and tropical fruit flavours from whole flower hops with a hint of caramel. |
Romney Marsh - Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried

Busy on a sultry
July Saturday evening. A great improvement on some of this pub's recent iterations. We sat at a wobbly table in the kitchen before moving to a bourgeois table in the front room.
Tonbridge - Blonde Ambition | 4.20 | | Pale,water mint. |
Romney Marsh - Amber Ale | 4.20 | | Mid brown,malt driven, with a long spicy finish.Better than its bottled form. |
Tonbridge - Hookers Hooch (house beer) | 4.00 | | Roasty,dry,earthy dark beer. |

Recently re-opened and completely transformed inside very much for the better. A good welcome and a good selection of beers, it was unusual to see an ash tray on our table (a collectable item advertising Skol lager and definitely not to be used). There was a house beer called Ramblinns Hookers Hooch at 4%ABV unfortunately I was unable to find out where it is brewed. They also do another house beer called Lookers Liquor at 4.2% which was not available at the time of this visit. Looker is a local name for a shepherd.
Romney Marsh - Golden Ale | 3.90 | | My first cask beer from this new brewery situated in New Romney (I do have a bottle of Amber Ale at home)a good slightly hazy golden ale. |
First In Last Out (FILO) - Ginger Tom | 4.50 | Not Tried
Pig & Porter - Ashburnham Pale Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried

I've never been here before. What a nice pub. There seemed to be 2 halves and was full of sturdy tables. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm breeze and the views across the fields and of the Church opposite. The next beer coming on was chalked-up as Dark Star American Pale Ale.
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | | Quite cold but definitely Goachers. |
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried
Goacher's - Silver Star | 4.20 | Not Tried

It had been a manic week at work and all I wanted to do was sit in a pub with a newspaper and a few pints. The weather was stunning, so I cycled down to this pub, sat outside with the church bell practise going on across the road and drank Harvey's and did the Independent Super Su Doku. God, I was happy.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Lovely Harvey's yeast on aroma, touch of hop and little bit of toffee. All bar perfect. |
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
Rother Valley - Honey Fuzz (superseded by 4.1% version) | 3.80 | Not Tried | Rother Valley Smild was due on next |

It was Friday evening and I hadn't been to a pub all week and I was suffering withdrawal symptoms. So I came from work via the train from Folkestone to Ashford to Ham Street and cycled up to Warehorne. As I was free wheeling down to the pub I recognised the 2 people sat outside, Mette who I work with and her fiance. We sat and chatted and drank beer.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Maybe not hoppy enough to be absolutely perfect, but each pint disappeared in about 2 mouthfuls, so it must have been good. |
Hopdaemon - Skrimshander IPA | 4.50 | | Definitely not as good as it used to be. Earthy hops, but its lost that raspberry malty fruity edge. |
Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried

Goacher's - Special House Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
