Sat at the bar with the friendly barman. Only one in but it was excellent. Sat drinking 4 new beers to me having a chat. Improved pub by having a woman's touch maybe?
BeerABVScoreNotes

1800ish and start of our Margate micropub crawl. Friendly and welcoming, we chatted to a few locals gathered around the bar before occupying a couple of tables by the entrance.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ripple Steam - Classic IPA4.50ExcellentFull of flavour with a nice alcohol kick
Canterbury Ales (sometimes badged as Canterbrew) - Green and Gold 4.80ExcellentHad a taster of this, very medicinal so decided not to opt for a pint. Chalked up as 5.2% here.
Range Ales - Double Tap4.10ExcellentI detected a hint of sherbert fizz on the tongue, very pleasant.
Mighty Oak - Old Man & The Sea4.10Not Tried

1 hour to get here by bus from the wheel. Buses are rubbish and too many micros shut on a Saturday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Range Ales - Black Ops4.80GoodInteresting ale served at the correct temperature

I like this pub, 10 mins walk from Margate station away from central Margate. In a parade of shops you have a long narrow pub that is slightly quirky and I like the maps on the walls.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Isla Vale Alesmiths - Hopping Mad 4.00AcceptableBrown bitter. OK though.

The pub is found in Westbrook, Kent, CT9 5AX.

Another Thanet Micropub opened on the evening of Friday 23rd August 2013 in Canterbury Road. Originally run by Carl and Nancy but subsequently sold on by them. Near the former Royal Sea Bathing Hospital site - a brisk 7 minutes walk from Margate railway station and on bus routes. A shop conversion from previous use as an antiques shop and before that a fishmonger. At the street end of the building the layout is normal height tables, chairs and benches. The bar counter is at the back in a more sparsely furnished area where the unisex toilet is also located. Real ale, cider and wine are sold. Real ale and cider are dispensed on gravity from casks set up on a fixed wooden stillage in a back room behind the bar counter, in a temperature controlled daylightless room.

We have visited this pub 35 times, seen 72 different beers and tried 49 of them.
