Regular first Friday ‘Yard Party’ at the brewery. I’m quite early for a quick one and there are not many people here yet. Nice set up.
Truman's - Project X IPA5.10ExcellentI again enjoyed this experimental beer. It has pretty much the same hop profile as Lazarus but is darker (I think) and stronger and is a prototype for a beer to be called Roller IPA.

The second of first Friday of the month openings of a bar at the brewery. Much better weather this month and a correspondingly bigger crowd. As well as a quick pint, I ate a very tasty beef burger (no longer neccessarily the non-sequitur it sounds these days).
Truman's - Lazarus4.20GoodA dry-hopped version of this beer, served straight from the cask.
Truman's - Runner4.00Not Tried
Truman's - Swift3.90Not Tried
Truman's - Zephyr4.40Not Tried

The first of a series of first Friday of the month ‘Yard Parties’ at the brewery premises, where a nice bar area has been developed. Five cask conditioned beers and one more on keg, plus a German sausage barbeque. Weather a bit chilly unfortunately.
Truman's - Original Porter4.50ExcellentA cask that had been maturing away in a corner of the brewery for quite a long time and is particularly lovely for it.
Truman's - Zephyr4.40GoodVery fresh. Australian hop tastes.
Truman's - Budburst4.20AcceptableNot really properly conditioned.
Truman's - Runner4.00Not Tried

An enjoyable and well-attended launch party for Truman’s new brewery, at last on-stream in East London. It is a well-organised event with two bars (bright beer on gravity dispense), cheap prices, a barbeque, live music and straw bales to sit on. Many familiar faces here – and I found somebody else who, like me, had attended the Truman’s return to real ale launch event back in the early 1980s.
Truman's - US Pale4.60ExcellentThe stand out beer for me. Braumaster Ben gets to put some hops in this one. I’ll be watching out for it.
Truman's - Runner4.00GoodA dark-coloured, old-fashioned bitter.
Truman's - UK Gold4.30GoodPromising.
Truman's - Swift3.90AcceptableGolden and a bit ‘cereally’.

Summary of Beer Scores

The pub is found in Hackney, Greater London, E3 2NT.

The original Truman’s Brewery in Brick Lane, East London had been established in 1666 and at one time in the 19th century was the largest brewery in the world. It continued to be a major player right up to its closure in 1989. The name was revived in 2010 and Truman’s beers were brewed on a contract basis, first by Nethergate and later by Everard’s. In September 2013 the brewery returned to its East London origins, opening a large, 40 barrel plant on Fish Island, Hackney Wick. There are plans to open a sampling room at the brewery, but for now it is only open to the public for special events.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 10 different beers and tried 9 of them.
