Becoming more restauranty, new frontdoor now in use, leading customers to a reception desk before getting to the bar. Lots of young staff trying to look busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bradfield - Farmers Pale Ale5.00GoodAn odd flavour, peardrops, bit mouthwashy.
Dark Star - Hophead (was 3.8%) brewed by Fuller's3.40GoodHappy but never sure you want another pint of it.

Lunchtime cycle meet. We sat in the little alcove (or the naughty corner?) near the bar as the weather was a bit damp for the garden. Pleasant enough.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Sheep - Best Bitter3.80GoodMuch better than the Hophead. A good traditional session bitter.
Dark Star - Hophead (was 3.8%) brewed by Fuller's3.40AcceptableCondition good and a full pint served. This ale is only a shadow of its former self though. The ABV has been reduced but I also think the other ingredients have also been cut back - it really is a very weak flavoured beer now lacking in body.

Quiet, more diners arrived later. New portico added to front of pub and new dining furniture. Beer now £5.10.

Our cycle group squeezed into a small area with seats at various heights. Landlord explained that, on Sundays, the pub relies on a busy food service to break even.
