Evening, my first visit here. We sat at a table surrounded by diners, loud talkers and for me the off-putting smell of fish. Not one to linger long at.

Lunchtime - just before 32 diners arrived apparently - but kindly fitted us in for a meal all the same. A nice feel to the place with a few drinkers at the bar. Food very nice but a bit small and pricey I thought.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead (some, if not all, also brewed by Fuller's)3.80GoodReasonable example - but not at its best.
Eagle (was Wells & Young's, was Charles Wells, was Wells) - Wells A Good Stuffing4.50PoorA slight whiff of staleness - some Christmassy notes in this amber coloured ale.

Warm, cosy inside. Bleak winter solstice outside. Really nice feel to this pub.

First visit to this pub and really impressed. It seems to have the balance right between a place where locals can go for a pint, but where occasional visitors feel comfortable too. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Must go back soon.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Came here for 15 mins as it was around the corner from where we had just had lunch. Isabel enjoyed the kid's play area.
