About The Kings Arms

The pub sign. The Kings Arms, Borough, Central London

Summary of Beer Scores

The pub is found in Borough, Central London, SE1 1YT.

Tucked down a side street, Newcomen Street, off Borough High Street this single roomed pub is notable for its Grade II listed pub sign. This takes the form of a sculpture of the Royal Coat of Arms of George the Third dating from 1760. It originally stood above the gate at the south end of the old London Bridge, being salvaged and moved to this pub when the bridge was demolished. The coat of arms then stayed on the pub frontage when the pub was rebuilt in 1890. Comfortably furnished throughout, for many years just 3 handpumps but now equipped with 5 on the bar counter.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 5 of them.
