Busy for early lunchtime visit and my first to this fine 14th-century inn with ancient features such as inglenook fireplace in main front bar. Warm welcome from staff and prompt service.
Shepherd Neame - Late Red | 4.50 | | In very fine condition with frothy head and lacing. Has not come far, as in the Shepherd Neame Brewery just around the corner, and so that should be no surprise. A very fruity and malty mouthfeel with a hoppy aftertaste. |

Morning visit soon after 11am an already busy, likely to get a lot busier with a vintage transport event taking place in Faversham today.
Shepherd Neame - New Dawn Citrus Ale | 3.50 | | I am not a fan of citrusy ales but this was a new one from Sheps so I decided to give it a try. Pale and probably the first one served today. Not really my sort of beer. |

We had intended to eat here but were told the kitchen had just closed. It was 14:55 with menus chalked up everywhere and sandwiches advertised until 15:00 but there was no food apart from crisps and the like. We checked various internet sites and came to the conclusion that with the notable exception of those good people at Spoons, it is impossible to eat in a Faversham pub on a Tuesday afternoon. We decided to visit a couple more pubs and then catch a bus to Maidstone for the Artemis Restarant which is open in the afternoons. We enjoyed listening to the people at the adjacent table talking absolute rubbish about Maidstone.

Evening. Pleasantly quiet.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Left good bitterness on the lips |
Shepherd Neame - Samuel Adams Blonde Ambition | 4.50 | Not Tried | Says "American Craft Beer" on the pumpclip. Has Kent become the 51st state of the U.S. then? Or 52nd if Puerto Rico joins too. |

2025 hours visit. Fells a bit mucky because of its food existence but very friendly bar staff.

Pub number 5 on my Faversham crawl and my attempt to find the best pint of Master Brew in the town. Very busy in this attractive pub. Lots of tourists and locals. Pub has been extended to add a restaurant to the side. Does B&B rooms as well.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Shep yeast aroma and hops. Yeast, a bit of green apple in mouth. Served too cold. Earthy finish with dry bitter flowery hop. Less fruity than Crown & Anchor, but better hop. Toffee and hop finish are good. Hop makes this one the best so far. |
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale) | 4.20 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Kent's Best | 4.10 | Not Tried
Shepherd Neame - Whitstable Bay Organic Ale | 4.50 | Not Tried

3rd in my cycle ride. Not too busy late afternoon. Bar is at the front of the pub as you walk in, but then there are many different seating areas, including a yard and garden at the back. Nice feel to this pub. I was sat at the front off to one side watching the world go by in a room with an inglenook fireplace.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | Reddish brown bitter. Lasting white head. Nice yeasty hoppy aromas with caramel and floral hops leading to a good hop finish. Best pint of this that I think I've had. The drying finish alone is superb. After I took the last gulp I looked at the glass in admiration and appreciation |
