Busy for my late afternoon visit with one other real ale enthusiast from south-east London joining me. We had met up in the Jolly Drayman just visited and some 10 minutes down the road. Usual friendly, prompt service.

Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodPresented with good head and lacing was this Lewes in Sussex-based bitter. A bitter and slightly fruity first hit and which lingered in the aftertaste.

The usual quieter side was closed for a private party but the main bar was open and busy. A seat to be had by the wood-burning stove which was very welcome on such a frosty day. Friendly, prompt service for my time of arrival late afternoon.

Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodServed with plenty of head and lacing as always. A fruity, bitter first hit. A sweetish mouthfeel on this Lewes bitter and a moreish dryness lingering.

Busy for my late afternoon visit. Opted for the usually quieter bar out of the two and just a small cluster of drinkers around it. Warm, prompt and friendly service. Sat close to the wood burning stove close to the bar and which was very welcome after my walk from the Jolly Drayman with all the chill air out there.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodVery good head and lacing. A dry and bitter mouthfeel with a touch of fruitiness lingering. Very moreish.

Busy for my late afternoon visit but managed to get a seat in the quieter bar. Prompt, friendly service. Same group of chaps in other bar as was the case this time last year and all sporting their Christmas-themed jumpers. Very much a wet pub at this time of day.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodVery good head and lacing on this Lewes-based bitter. A pleasantly dry, bitter mouthfeel. Lightly fruited and a good lingering hoppiness which made it very moreish!
